Meaningful Support from Işık University Students to Blood Donation Campaign

On 6 November, 2012, a blood donation campaign was carried out under the leadership of the Social Responsibility Projects Club in Işık University Şile Campus in cooperation with Şile Red Crescent Organization and Işık University Red Crescent Youth Branch.

Blood is an invaluable material in medical treatment, which can only be obtained from human beings. However, the amount of donated and stored blood does not meet current needs due to the low number of voluntary blood donors.

Members of the Işık community filled Işık University's infirmary on 6 November, 2012 to donate blood, inspired by the meaningful slogan: "We may not save the whole world, but we can save one life." The campaign aimed to underline the importance of voluntary blood donation in the field of social responsibility. The large group of student volunteers donated blood between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Işık University carries out a blood donation campaign every year. Even during the first year of the campaign, the participation rate of the donors very high. We continue to increase the number of first-time and regular donors.
