About Us

About Us

University Library meets the educational and research needs of the students, faculty and staff of Işık University. Its resources are also available, under specific conditions, to individuals not affiliated with Işık University.

Library Collection

The Library collects books, magazines, journals, and newspapers as well as non-print materials, such as CD-ROMS, video-cassettes, audio cassettes and slides. The Library also subscribes to a number of online databases.

Library Arrangement

Books in the library are shelved according to the Library of Congress classification system. The Library of Congress system classifies books by subject. Each subject has a corresponding letter or letters. Letters determine the general location of the book; numbers following the letter(s) more specifically identify that particular book. Periodicals (magazines, journals) are shelved alphabetically by title.

Circulation Policies & Loan Periods

You must show a valid student, faculty, or staff ID card in order to borrow materials. Reference materials, periodicals and government documents do not circulate. Other materials can be borrowed and renewed on or before the due date. Loan periods vary depending on the status of the borrower.
