English Placement and Proficiency Exam for International and Transfer Students

The English Placement and Proficiency Exams will be administered on the dates specified below. Please carefully review the exam dates, times, and formats.

English Placement Exam
For students registered via Horizontal Transfer for the 2025–2026 Academic Year Spring Semester and for International Students
   Format: Face to Face
   Location: SFL Building, Room 109
   Time: 10:00 AM

Students who score 70 or above on the Placement Exam are entitled to take the Proficiency Exam, which consists of two sessions: written and oral. The written session will be held on 10 February 2026, and the oral session will be held on 11 February 2026.

Proficiency Exam – Part 1 (Written)
For students registered via Horizontal Transfer and for International Students
   Format: Face to Face
   Location: SFL Building, Room 109
   Time: 10:00 AM

Wednesday, 11 February 2026
Proficiency Exam – Part 2 (Oral)
For students registered via Horizontal Transfer and for International Students
   Format: Online
   Platform: MS Teams
   Time: The schedule for the oral exam and the MS Teams link will be sent to students’ Işık email addresses on the afternoon of 10 February. (The oral exam will take approximately 10 minutes.) If you do not receive your MS Teams speaking exam link by 16:00 on 10 February, please contact SFL via sflinfo@isikun.edu.tr 

Note: You must be present at the exam venue or online platform before the specified time.

For face-to-face exams, students are required to bring a pencil, eraser, and pencil sharpener. The use or possession of mobile phones, smart watches, dictionaries, notes, or any other materials that may be used for cheating is strictly prohibited during the exam.

For online speaking exams, students must complete the exam individually, without receiving assistance from any person or source, and without using notes, dictionaries, digital tools, or any other supportive materials during the exam.

Any behavior in violation of exam rules will be considered cheating, and relevant regulations will be applied.
