'Hundred Years of Experience'

'Hundred Years of Experience" project was initiated by Işık University Social Responsibility Projects Club in 2012-2013 academic year. The project aims to organize a series of seminars on the institutional outlook of hundred-year-old corporations about social responsibility and what they have achieved to disseminate this ideal. The project's first seminar has recently been held.

In the first seminar, the keynote speakers were Hande Celalyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hacı Bekir Şekercisi, and Sadık Vefa, Chariman of Board of Directors of Vefa Bozacısı. The speakers talked about how these corporations started business and how they have grown over the years. They also emphasized the importance they gave to social responsibility.

During the seminar, Vefa boza (a traditional Turkish drink) and Hacı Bekir delights were offered to the audience. Sadık Vefa and Hande Celalyan replied students' questions delightedly in the question-answer session, expressing their contentment with the event. At the end of the seminar, each speaker was presented with a plaque, and a photograph was taken with the members of the Social Responsibility Projects Club in memory of this meaningful event.

The students of Işık University Social Responsibility Projects Club underlined that the seminars would continue throughout the academic year and that everyone within the university body would be inspired by theses "Hundred Years of Experiences."
