The first guest of the monthly Business/Science World Seminar series was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül. In the seminar Sarıgül shared his expectations regarding the university's R&D studies, academic projects, and publications and made predictions about strategic initiatives.

Emphasizing that R&D, innovation, and technology are the leading forces that encourage the growth and export of businesses, sectors, and schools in national and global markets, he stated that they could be described as a "terrific strategic trio" that made them more competitive by achieving the price flexibility provided by target setting.

Noting that internationalization in higher education, perceived as a phenomenon of prestigious and branded universities in developed countries, is likely to be an area of policy development for many higher education institutions, Sarıgül drew attention to the university's past achievements and success graph and highlighted that they aimed to accelerate it within the scope of internationalization to contribute to the global community and humanity.
