8 March International Women's Day Celebrated

At Işık University, where 52.4% of the academic and administrative staff are women, International Women's Day was celebrated with enthusiasm. As part of the celebrations, Işık women gathered in front of the Social Center and took a photo with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman.

In his message of congratulations, Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman stated, "I heartily congratulate International Women's Day as a day of consciousness-raising, where women will provide a future where they will compete on equal terms with men by eliminating glass ceilings that make them invisible even in the smallest details, be equally represented, receive equal compensation for their labor, have access to education as much as they wish, make free decisions away from traditional pressures, where all forms of violence against women will disappear, and they will share life with their labor, hearts, and productivity in a world where all girls have equal access to education."

As part of the celebrations, lavender sachets from the Women's Labor Evaluation Foundation (KEDV) products were presented to female employees on behalf of the university at Nahıl Shop, while the Işık Fenerbahçe Supporters Club members distributed flowers to all female employees, and the Işık Feminists Club members shared gifts specially prepared for International Women's Day.

As part of the March 8th celebrations, Emine Dal, the President of the Ataturkist Thought Club, and Aysel Can, the President of the Işık Feminists Club, participated with Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman in a special broadcast on Radyo Şile.
