Dr. Şahin Aydın's Article Published in International Scientific Journal "Computers and Electronics in Agriculture"

The founder and lead researcher of the Intelligent Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Applications Laboratory (INTALA LAB) at Işık University, Dr. Şahin Aydın, from the Department of Information Technologies in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, has published an article titled "Design and implementation of a Smart Beehive and Its Monitoring System Using Microservices in the Context of IoT and Open Data" in the prominent international scientific journal "Computers and Electronics in Agriculture".

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a communication network in which physical objects are connected to each other or to larger systems. IoT is widely used in many fields, and the article emphasizes that agriculture and animal husbandry are the two most important areas that use IoT's relevant features to increase efficiency, productivity, precision, and ease of use. The article highlights that IoT-based wireless sensor network (WSN) monitoring systems can be established for beekeeping and honey production, specifically, using IoT in the monitoring and protection of bees can result in healthier bees and increased honey production.
