22 June 2026

Prof. Dr. Seda Demiralp, Head of the Department of International Relations at Işık University and Director of Emotics Lab, presented the findings of the Social Resilience Index (SRI) study at a press conference held on the Maslak Campus.
Conducted by Işık University Emotics Lab with the participation of more than 3,000 respondents, the Social Resilience Index (SRI) study included not only core indicators but also special sets of questions addressing current developments affecting social risk and resilience dynamics. The study examined the current state of social resilience in Türkiye and the key factors shaping this phenomenon.

The research included assessments of perceptions of political risk in Türkiye, individuals’ sense of efficacy, resilience, and courage-related behaviors, as well as the impact of the absolute nullity verdict on different voter groups. It also comprehensively analyzed tendencies within society to withdraw, remain silent, or take action, together with the factors that strengthen or weaken social resilience.

The Social Resilience Index aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of social risks and resilience mechanisms while providing a comprehensive picture of the current state of social resilience in Türkiye.
