The symposium continued with a presentation by our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Serhat Koloğlugil, titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Higher Education.” In his talk, Prof. Dr. Koloğlugil addressed how artificial intelligence is transforming pedagogical approaches in university education, its role in academic production processes, and how it is reshaping opportunities in higher education.

One of the guest speakers of the event, Assoc. Prof. H. Akın Ünver from the Department of International Relations at Özyeğin University, gave a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence, Political Regimes, and Legitimacy.” He discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on decision-making processes, how this technology is used in authoritarian and democratic regimes, and the effects of algorithmic decisions on political legitimacy.

The symposium concluded with the contributions of Assoc. Prof. Selda Görkey from our university’s Department of Economics. In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Görkey focused on the effects of artificial intelligence on labor markets, productivity, and income distribution, and shared current debates on the political economy of digitalization with the participants.
