Non Discrimination Policy

Işık University, Mechanical Engineering Department Non-Discrimination Statement

 

  • Mechanical Engineering Department does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion/creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, religion, gender, sexual orientation, genetic information, family status, marital status, pregnancy, age, disability status, political tendency, sports/social society belongingness or soldiery status. 
  • This policy applies to Department students, faculties, employees, applicants and other parties with respect to participation in conducted programs of the Department.  
  • Every individual in the Department is expected to adhere to this policy based on mutual respect and fundamental justice in human relations. Department students are required to act in accordance with this policy from enrollment until graduation. Furthermore, all Department staff, including students and faculty members, are obligated to comply with the University's policies, the directives of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) of Turkey, and the relevant laws of the Republic of Turkey as a condition of employment.
  • No sanctions will be applied against anyone who reports potential violations and/or concerns about prohibited discriminatory acts to the Department through appropriate channels.
  • Actions and behaviors against the principle of non-discrimination policy are reported in written petitions to the Department Chair. The applications are investigated by the Department's "Non-Discrimination Policy Committee", which makes necessary recommendations for the decisions to be taken or implementation by the Department regarding the matter.
