13 August 2026

The project titled “Interpretable Mental Health Detection Based on Cognitive Markers from Turkish Text Data: A Clinical Natural Language Processing Approach,” prepared by Melisa Tunakan and Melih Kalkan, students of the Department of Psychology and Management Information Systems at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, has been selected for funding under the 2025/1 term of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A - Research Projects Support Program for Undergraduate Students.

The project aims to analyze cognitive markers in Turkish text data and develop interpretable approaches to mental health assessment based on these markers. By employing clinical natural language processing methods, the study seeks to contribute to the development of data-driven and explainable approaches to mental health assessment.

We congratulate Asst. Prof. Dr. Habibe Aktay and our students on this important achievement and wish them continued success in their academic endeavors.
