Our Academics’ Project Accepted by TÜBİTAK 1002

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berna Akçınar and Dr. Buket Ünver from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, have achieved notable academic success with a project accepted for funding under TÜBİTAK 1002, in which they serve as members of the research team.

The project, titled “The Effects of Art Therapy and Psychosocial Support on Aggression: An Ecological Approach,” will be carried out under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Koca from Rumeli University. The research team includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berna Akçınar and Dr. Buket Ünver from Işık University, together with Dr. Nur Namlı İnci from Doğuş University.

The study aims to assess aggression in adolescents from a multidimensional perspective that incorporates psychosocial and environmental factors. Within this framework, the research will scientifically examine:

• The sequential impact of emotional intelligence and self-regulation skills on the relationship between emotional accessibility and aggression,
• The moderating effect of peer support on the link between self-regulation skills and aggression,
• The effect of art therapy on the relationship between parental emotional accessibility and aggression.

In this regard, the project stands out as a pioneering effort to analyze adolescent aggression from multiple perspectives while investigating the effectiveness of art therapy. We congratulate our esteemed academics and wish them continued success.
