Hosted by Işık University and organized in collaboration with Lumivantax, the Cyber Clubs Association, and IşıkSiber, the Cryptology and Cloud Computing Security Summit explored the most pressing issues in the digital landscape, ranging from post-quantum cryptography to artificial intelligence security.
The summit, which brought together leading figures, academics and experts who shape the cyber security industry, opened with welcome remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Çeliktaş, faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering and Coordinator of the Cyber Security Program; Prof. Dr. Onur Kaya, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences; and Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The speakers emphasized the strategic importance of cryptology and cloud computing security at both the national and global levels as digital transformation continues to accelerate.
The first keynote session focused on quantum technologies, one of the greatest threats and opportunities of the future. Sabri Serhan Güner of FinTech Software presented "Zero-Knowledge Proofs in the Post-Quantum Era," introducing next-generation mathematical solutions designed to address the risks posed by quantum computing. This was followed by Nebil Vural Gündoğan of Monofor, who discussed the latest advances in artificial intelligence in user security in his presentation, "Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Quantum Approaches in Keystroke-based Authentication."
The second session examined digital security in the financial sector. Ahmet Sütbaş of Vinu Crypto addressed the question, "Post-Quantum Digital Custody: How Will We Protect Crypto Assets as an Institution?" while Osman Emre Karagül of Garanti BBVA explored “Cryptographic Applications in Banking and Payment Systems”, highlighting cyber defense strategies at the intersection of traditional and modern financial infrastructures.
The afternoon sessions focused on cloud computing security. Dr. Barış Çeliktaş, representing Lumivantax, presented "Preparing for the Post-Quantum Era: How to Measure Corporate Cryptographic Maturity?" Nezih Mahmut Ünal, representing FNSS and Lumivantax, introduced participants to “Threat Modeling and Risk Analysis in Cloud Applications”. Fatih Emiral of the ISACA Istanbul Chapter discussed “Critical Cloud Security Architecture and Services for Suppliers”, while Ahmad Rad of Limon Cloud discussed practical approaches to corporate cloud solutions through his presentation, "Secure Cloud Governance with AWS Control Tower: Central Protection of Corporate Data."
The final session of the day examined both the human factor, the weakest link in cybersecurity, and the integration of artificial intelligence, which is its most dynamic power. Cumhur Kızıları of Proofpoint delivered a presentation on "Managing Human Risk in the Cloud," followed by Murat Lostar of the CSA Turkey Chapter, who discussed “Managing Supplier Risks from Cloud to Artificial Intelligence”. Gökhan Polat of Noode presented "Trust Gap in Decentralized Finance: Seven Critical Risks and the ISACA DTEF Governance Model," offering a forward-looking perspective on governance in decentralized finance. Turan Mola of Burgan Bank Türkiye introduced the Zero Trust Architecture Approach in Banking and Financial Services, while Orkun Torun of AWS Türkiye delivered the presentation titled "AWS Artificial Intelligence Security" focusing on securing AI models in cloud environments.
The summit concluded with closing remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Çeliktaş. Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to explore the technologies and strategies shaping the future of cybersecurity while engaging with industry professionals.
