The 2025–2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm on  our campuses

The new academic year at Işık University began with excitement at ceremonies on the Şile and Maslak campuses.

At the Şile Campus, the program opened with an academic procession attended by academics, administrative staff, and students. Following a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk bust, the opening speeches commenced. Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül, and FMV Board of Directors Secretary General Zeynep Sezerman each delivered their remarks.

Plaques of achievement were presented to the top graduates of the 2024–2025 Academic Year by the Feyziye Schools Foundation and the University administration. Meriç Dik, top graduate of both Işık University and the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture; Boluwatife Deborah Alayande, top graduate of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences; Berfin Keskin, top graduate of the Vocational School; Buse Özdamar, top graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Design; Ali Emre Gül, top graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences; Pelin Su Pehlivan, top graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts; and Rahaf Ziyad Ouda Saliman Salman, top graduate of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences were a source of great pride for the university for their remarkable accomplishments.

The ceremony continued with an opening panel titled “A New World in Science, Technology and Art”, featuring presentations by Dr. Müzeyyen Pandır from the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. İlker Tarı from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and Prof. Banu İnanç Uyan Dur from the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture.

At the Maslak Campus, the academic year was inaugurated for the School of Graduate Studies and the Vocational School. The program began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk bust by Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül, and FMV Honorary Board Member Said Akçura. This was followed by speeches delivered in turn by Vocational School Director Dr. Yiğit Şerif Karabulut, Vice-Rector and Director of School of Graduate Studies Prof. Dr. Serhat Koloğlugil, Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül.

After the ceremonies, an Orientation Program was held on both campuses to support new students in adapting to university life. Students had the opportunity to meet with administrative unit managers, while the excitement of the new academic year continued at the Şile Campus throughout the week with student club and booth activities.
