Student Clubs

There are 40 student clubs formed by students whose activities and administrations are also carried out by students at Işık University. The activities organized by Student Clubs form a crucial component of campus life at Işık University.

  • Kemalist Thinking

    Mustafa Kemal Atatürk pointed the youth the need for reaching modern civilization stage as a significant target, and Işık University's Kemalist Thinking Club made reaching this ideal a primary goal. Kemalist Thinking Club, which embraces a democratic and secular perspective in line with the basic principles of the Turkish Republic's Constitution, undertook the adoption of the Republic's achievements by university students as its duty. The club fulfills this duty by organizing activities that enable university students to integrate with the public as modern individuals.

    Press Club was formed in order to publish journals, newspapers, and brochures so that our students will be able to have the chance to research, exchange their knowledge, reveal their talents, have fun, and share information. Press Club believes that students are the best venues to publicize our university, thereby releasing information to mass and print media regarding the academic and social activities taking place at the university. The club, which is open to any sort of work or article produced by our students, aims to form a platform where everyone is able to find a particular aspect to match one's own talents.

    Computer Club's main objective is enabling Işık University students to keep pace with recent technology and help them to improve themselves with regards to this. Within this framework, the club organizes courses on highly demanded topics, such as Linux mathematical logic and number theory, conducts workshops on technological issues that we are likely to encounter in everyday life, and sets up visits to national fairs.

  • Dance

    Dance Club was established with the objective of teaching pas de deux ballroom dances such as the tango, rhumba, mambo, jive, cha cha, and fox trot. Professional educators give these dance lectures. Show groups composed of Dance Club members have the opportunity to present their shows in a number of activities at the university while also participating in interuniversity dance contests.

    The objective of the Işık University Outdoor Sports Club is to increase interest in outdoor sports and enable university students to learn outdoor sports such as camping, climbing, and trekking. Outdoor Sports Club is able to conduct several various activities, as the University's Şile campus is nested with convenient places for outdoor sports such as paintball, trekking, climbing, and ATV paths.

    The goal of Electronics Club is to contribute to the cultural and social activities of students who are interested in electronics and its applications in engineering outside their curricular schedule. In this respect, the club organizes conferences, workshops, and trips in order to inform their members about the developments in the area of electronics.

    Erasmus and Global Interaction Club was established with the goal of organizing symposiums and workshops that provide information and raise consciousness on the politics, programs, and adaptation strategies of the European Union (EU). The club, which is in charge of providing information on student exchange programs such as Socrates and Erasmus, provides assistance to students coming from abroad.

    The Işık University Philosophy Club was founded with the objective of teaching philosophy, which provides important gains to humanity, turns humanity's dream of resisting and even overcoming nature into reality, and is responsible for the emergence of classic and modern sciences in a systematic form, to students. Meanwhile, the club also organizes symposiums, conferences, and panels with this goal in mind.

    Folklore Club's goal is to teach and popularize dances of different regions that are components of people's culture. The club initiates courses under the supervision of professional instructors throughout the whole academic year. Management and Economy Club conducts symposiums, conferences, panels, and exploratory trips in the areas of Human Resources, career options, and preparation for business life in order to enlighten their members. The club introduces Işık University students to managers in the business world and professionals working in areas of Human Resources, through the Career Days organized regularly.

To this end, the club follows all publications, organizes conferences and workshops in order to follow the developments in mathematics nationwide and world-wide, and plans trips in order to enlighten their members about the developments in the area of electronics.

    The club, which can be thought of as the Community Volunteers Association at Işık University, produces social responsibility projects. Community Volunteers Club supports campaigns under this scope and presents various activities in order to raise awareness of these campaigns inside the university.

  • International Relations

    International Relations Club was formed in order to inform students about the sphere of International Relations, enhance coordination by realizing a mutual exchange of information, enlighten its members about the evolving events across the world. In addition, the club also aims to encourage its members to be active, by developing analyses on contemporary events. Accordingly, members of International Relations Club organize open sessions, panels, and conferences in collaboration with other universities.
