Description of the Program

Işık University – Applied Economics MA Program is a 12-course program (Courses are held at Maslak Campus, center of business district in Istanbul). The aim of the program is to equip the students with the ability of economic reasoning and analysis necessary for the decision makers and participants of key players in major industries. Curriculum is based on the application areas of economic theory and quantitative techniques. The number and variety of the elective courses offered in the program provides students with the expertise in various fields of applied economics. The students are expected to use economic theory, principles and methods together with data analysis to model major industrial trends in structure, conduct and performance throuhout the program. Development of academic presentation skills and project-based work skills throughout a diverse set of elective courses are among the opportunities offered at this program.

Who may apply?

Işık University – Applied Economics MA Program is designed for students who wish to work as a chief economist, financial analyst, researcher, or consultant in private or public industrial firms and who may wish to pursue an academic career in a Ph.D. program later on. MA in Applied Economics Program will provide the students with the necessary toolbox as quantitative and methodological skills. Students who have a BA/BS degree in any discipline qualify to apply to the program.
