INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOLS AND SHORT PROGRAMS
Işık University International Summer School 

Doing Business in Turkey, 2016
Crossroad of Civilizations, 2016
 
      

Between June 6 – July 1, Işık University hosted students from Mexico, Belgium, Norway and Czechia in the scope of Summer School modules, "Doing Business in Turkey" and "Istanbul: Crossroad of Civilizations".  In addition to academic courses, students attended cultural and academic excursions. Companies such as Kariyer.net, Defacto and Viko by Panasonic welcomed students on company sites, while students also found the opportunity to experience the historical and cultural heritage of Istanbul. Programs included Turkish at Beginner's level, traditional Turkish dance and Ebru art.  

Doing Business in Turkey, 2017


Summer program; which presented a theoretical and practical framework of the business sector in Turkey by company visits and lectures, was held between July 3-30, 2017 in Istanbul. 11 students from our partner institution Tec de Monterrey, Mexico participated and were hosted on Şile Campus. Students visited DeFacto, a leading brand in fashion and clothing industry, Kariyer.net, the largest human resources platform in Turkey and Borsa Istanbul, stock exchange entity. 

Short Programs

Trade Mission 5-11 March 2016


 

International Trade Mission was a project coordinated by the Management Department and International Office, oriented to bring together companies and Business and Administration students. 64 students from 7 different higher education institutions from Europe and 32 selected students from Işık University represented 18 international companies and searched for potentials in the Turkish market. Project results were disseminated through the international trade fair held in Maslak Campus. 

International BusIT Week, April 17 – 21, 2016

 

ICT Week was designed to improve skills and know-how of students on Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) methodologies and BPR modelling tools.

Intercultural Management, Study Abroad Program in Barcelona, March 17-28, 2017

 

Işık University, in collaboration with New York Institute of Technology and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, offered a 2 week Study Abroad program in Barcelona between March 17-28, 2017. 7 Işık University students and 22 NYIT students participated in the program that was hosted by UAB. Program consisted of guest lectures by professors of UAB, by Mr. Amr Swid from NYIT and Pınar Falcıoğlu from Işık University, company visits and extracurricular activities. 

International Staff Week in Istanbul, May 8-11, 2017

 

Işık University hosted academic and administrative staff from UK, Portugal, Hungary and Poland between May, 8-11 2017 on Şile Campus by an "International Staff Week" program organized by International Office. Cultural tours, job shadowing sessions and a Finance seminar were held during the program.
