  • What are the required documents and procedures to get a residence permit for foreigners?

    In the first residences,

    Foreign personnel should obtain a work visa by applying to the Turkish Consulates in their own country. A foreign employee with a work visa:

    • Will get an appointment from the website of the Istanbul Foreigners' Department for Residence Permits for Teaching Assistants.
    • Declaration of Residency Form
    • 4 portrait photos
    • Original passport
    • Copy of the passport (photo page, page showing the last entry, page indicating the validity period)
    • The original and the copy of the contract which has been signed between the University and the Foreign Teaching Assistant
    • Letter of Permission which has been given by the Presidency of the Higher Education Council
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: If a residence permit is already obtained, the permit itself and all the treated pages.
  • What are the documents that should be prepared by the employee?

    DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BE SUPPLIED BY TURKISH CITIZEN EMPLOYEES:

    • DIPLOMAS (if received from abroad, Equivalency Certificate of Higher Education Council) (Notarized)
    • RÉSUMÉ
    • RESIDENCE
    • CERTIFICATE OF RESIDENCE
    • COPY OF IDENTITY CARD
    • HEALTH REPORT (Tuberculosis Dispensary report will be sufficient)
    • CERTIFICATE OF EMPLOYMENT FROM THE ORGANIZATIONS WHERE S/HE WORKED
    • COPY OF THE INSURANCE REGISTRATION CARD OR INSURANCE NUMBER (OTHER FUND NUMBERS, IF AVAILABLE)
    • CERTIFICATE OF MILITARY STATUS
    • CRIMINAL RECORDS
    • BLOOD TYPE CARD
    • CUMULATIVE INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT (FROM PREVIOUS EMPLOYER)
    • FAMILY STATUS NOTIFICATION FORM FOR MINIMUM SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE
    • PERSONNEL PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FORM
    • ALLIANZ PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FORM

    ACADEMIC PERSONNEL MUST ALSO SUPPLY THE FOLLOWING:

    • CERTIFICATE OF ASSIGNMENT TO THE CURRENT TITLE (PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR)
    • DOCTORATE DIPLOMA (if received from abroad, Equivalency Certificate of Higher Education Council) (Notarized)
    • LIST OF PUBLICATIONS
    • RESULT CERTIFICATES OF ALES AND KPDS& ÜDS FOR WHOM ASSIGNED AS RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

    DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO PREPARED BY FOREIGN EMPLOYEES:

    • WORK VISA FROM REPUBLIC OF TURKEY CONSULATE
    • NOTARIZED COPIES OF THE DIPLOMAS
    • COPY OF PASSPORT
    • HEALTH REPORT (Tuberculosis Dispensary report will be sufficient)
    • PHOTOS (6 PCS)
    • RÉSUMÉ
    • COPY OF RESIDENCE PERMIT
    • SOCIAL SECURITY CARD (S.S. CARD)
    • CUMULATIVE INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT (FROM PREVIOUS EMPLOYER)
    • BLOOD TYPE CARD
    • FOREIGN IDENTITY NUMBER (for who are staying and working in Turkey before starting work at Işık University)

    NOTE: NOTE: THE ABOVE LISTED DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE FULLY DELIVERED TO THE PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT ONE WEEK BEFORE STARTING WORK.

  • Is it necessary to notify the department about changes in marital status, home address, identity information, and how should I do so?

    To notify about changes, documents, which can be taken from the headman, such as residence certificate, copy of identity card, and copy of marriage certificate, should be delivered to our department no later than seven days after the change.

  • What are the procedures for exiting employees?
    • If an employee quits, s/he gives the notice of resignation to the relevant unit (administrative personnel to general secretary; academic personnel to the president of the registered faculty, institute, and program) depending on the period of notice. After the request is approved and at least three days prior to leaving, s/he fills out and signs the discharge form and other papers required by the Personnel Department, and gets them signed by the relevant units./li>
    • If an employee leaves due to military service, he notifies the unit to which he is registered, again, considering the period of notice. In the petition, he specifies whether he will get a severance payment or not due to military service. After the request is approved and at least three days prior to leaving, s/he fills out and signs the discharge form and other papers required by the Personnel Department, and gets them signed by the relevant units. After this procedure, severance payments are made to the personnel who will receive such payments.
    • If an employee is retiring, s/he gives notifies to the unit to which s/he is registered, again, considering the period of notice. After the request is approved and at least three days prior to leaving, s/he fills out and signs the discharge form and other papers required by the Personnel Department, and gets them signed by the relevant units. After this procedure, severance payments are made to the personnel who will receive such payments.
  • What are the laws for current employees regarding their personnel rights?

    In our university, procedures are in accordance with:

    • Labor Law No. 4857
    • Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510
