SUNY Brockport College - Işık University Joint Dual Diploma Program in Software Engineering
This program is a joint dual diploma program of SUNY (State University of New York) Brockport College and Işık University.
Students enrolling in this program pursue one-half of their studies at SUNY Brockport and the other half at Işık University. Students begin their studies at Işık University, completing their English preparation and freshman years at Işık, their sophomore year at Brockport, their junior year at Işık and finally their senior year at Brockport. This way, they take half their courses at Işık and half at Brockport.
The program consists of 130 credit-hours of course work and 20 working-days of industrial training.
The goal of the program is to educate software engineers who are in high demand in Turkey and around the world. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of software engineering as well as to equip students with practical skills of software development. The program includes courses in basic sciences, humanities, and social sciences, as well as in electives.
Students obtain an invaluable education in the area of software engineering, as well as receiving a broader cultural education by studying in the United States during their sophomore and senior years.Students enrolled in this program are required to acquire a satisfactory level of fluency in the English language and to be in good standing in their course work in order to continue their studies in the U.S.
